During the sweltering summer of 2006, a young and innovative clothing line was born onto the gritty streets of Philadelphia, PA. Babylon Cartel burst onto the city of brotherly love’s fashion scene with extremely colorful energy and unique style. Their mission; simple: to provide high quality, cutting edge, and most importantly,creative, high end apparel to the masses. Their vision; well, that’s a bit more complicated.
Over its early years the line has gone through many different stages, showcasing not only the brand’s clever imagination but also their continuously evolving growth and development. Each season has brought a new theme; from the first steps of “Back to Babylon” and then the “80′s is Dead” movement, to the most recent and extremely popular “Flight Academy”, the designs stay true to the company’s vision, a vision that exemplifies the clothing line’s name.
Babylon, from the Hebrew “Babel” is interpreted to mean confusion, and by definition, a cartel is a formal agreement among competitors. The meaning behind “Babylon Cartel” is the joining of the often conflicting and confusing elements of mind, body and soul to work together to originate the most inventive forms.
